Google is reportedly set to introduce the Google Play Family Library plan later this month, which will let up to six people share all the app and media purchases made by a primary account holder.

That means that Android apps and games, as well as Google Play movies, music and books can be shared by an entire family, at no extra charge.

According to CNET, the primary account holder will be able to remove specific titles from the family library (useful if you have young children), or hide certain music artists that you don’t want others to know you enjoy.

The new feature is similar to Apple’s Family Sharing plan, which was introduced in 2014. Google’s Family Library was first spotted back in May in developer documentation, but that report didn’t include details on how purchases would be managed or when the plan would be rolled out.

We’ve contacted Google to find out exactly when and where the Play Family Library will become available and will update this post if there’s a response.
