Following up on its announcement in January, Minecraft: Education Edition is rolling out to teachers in an open beta today.
It’s pretty much identical to the standard version of Minecraft, but with a couple of extra perks to make it more useful for educators and students, like an in-game camera or the ability to keep your created character between sessions.

In the future, teachers will be able to use a ‘Classroom Mode’ to control their various students, including sending chat messages or teleporting students to specific spots. It’s basically a God Mode for teachers.
The idea behind the concept is simple; Minecraft lets students participate in an open world where they can do anything from designing roller coasters building a working in-game computer, and the education edition simply provides extra incentives for the classroom.
